Chelsea are expected to seal a £90million deal for Bayer Leverkusen sensation Kai Havertz.
Reports suggest the 21-year-old will become Frank Lampard’s latest summer recruit this week, following Hakim Ziyech and Germany team-mate Timo Werner to Stamford Bridge.
And the Blues are not expected to conclude their transfer business there, as Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and out-of-contract Brazil defender Thiago Silva are also said to be on their way to the club.
According to Sport Bild, the west London club will not be paying Havertz’s £90million fee upfront.
It is believed the German club will receive an initial £72million for the midfielder, with a further £9million to come based on expected performance – such as qualifying for the Champions League – and another £9million to come from potential trophy success.
The German outlet reports that Chelsea will officially unveil Havertz as their latest signing this week, playing down any possibility of the move breaking down at the last minute.
According to The Sun, they will be paying him a whopping £80.6million over five years in SW6 – which equates to around £310,000 per week.
It is believed Havertz will sign a £310,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge, making him Chelsea's highest-paid player.

That would make Havertz the highest-paid player at Chelsea, eclipsing Werner’s £170,000-a-week deal.
