Thomas Partey has been ruled out of Ghana's upcoming fixtures and will remain at Arsenal over the international break due to a thigh injury.
The 27-year-old came off at half-time in the defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday night.
Partey was seen clutching his leg at the end of the first half and emerged after the interval with ice on his thigh.
The midfielder had been set to link up with the national team for Ghana's two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Sudan on Thursday and next Tuesday.
But Mikel Arteta cast doubt over Partey's involvement in those games after Arsenal's 3-0 loss to Villa.
“The doctor will have to have a look at him and probably scan him,” Arteta said. “Then we will decide what to do with him.”
The Arsenal boss added: “We don't know [whether he will withdraw].

“We have to scan him tomorrow or the day after and see what he felt straight away. Let's wait and see what the magnitude of the injury is.”
