According to a report from German outlet Bild, Toni Kroos has decided to hang up his boots from the German National Team to focus solely on playing for Real Madrid.
This is coming just after Germany lost 2 – 0 to England on Tuesday night and were eliminated from Euro 2020 in the round-of-16 phase.
Bild states that Kroos’s official announcement on the matter is ‘imminent’.
Although, it’s unclear what that timeline would be if the report is true.
Kroos is about to go on a near one-month vacation before he returns to Real Madrid’s training ground at Valdebebas.
The German midfielder has stated in the past that he will not play late into his 30s and that he’d like to retire relatively early.

It’s very possible that Kroos will see out his contract until 2023, when he’ll be 33 years old, and retire as a footballer.
