UEFA Europa League: Osimhen scores again as Napoli hands Legia Warsaw first defeat

Napoli and Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, scored again on Thursday to help Napoli clinch a home win against a stubborn Legia Warsaw from Poland in their UEFA Europa League matchday three of Group C.

Goals from Lorenzo Insigne, Victor Osimhen and Matteo Polittano helped the Gli Azurris put a hold on Legia Warsaw's hundred percent record in the Europa League this season as their bid to qualify from a sixth consecutive Europa League group stage finally takes off.

Prior to tonight, The Polish clubside had not conceded a goal in their first two matches of this campaign and thus, made Napoli toil for the entirety of the first period in search for a goal.

Napoli coach, Luciano Spaletti, invited Osimhen in the fifty-seventh minute to intensity the threats of the hosts even as The Wojskowi were pinned into their own half.

Napoli continued to press hard and finally found the back of the net when Lorenzo Insigne swept home beautifully from Matteo Politano's cross in the seventy-sixth minute.

The Napoli captain, Insigne, then turned provider, as he exchanged a one-two pass with Victor Osimhen who sealed victory just five minutes later, racing through on goal and finishing with aplomb to inflict a first UEL defeat of the season on Legia.

Matteo Politano added insult to injury with a third in the death, however, the Polish outfit can take heart from the fact they still sit pretty at the top of Group C with six points.

It was Osimhen's ninth goal in just ten appearances for the Naples across all competitions this campaign, and his fourth in three outings in the UEFA Europa League.
