Victor Boniface is on a roll in the German Bundesliga, as he received nomination for his fourth Rookie of the Month award.

The Nigerian striker has been in solid form since joining Bayer Leverkusen in the summer from Union SG.

Most fans expected a settling down period for Victor Boniface, especially with the massive shoes of Patrik Schick there for him to fill.

The Super Eagles striker has confounded many since he arrived at Die Werkself and has become a fan favourite following his solid performances.

Despite not scoring any goal last month, Victor Boniface has bagged the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award for the fourth consecutive time.

Victor Boniface has only been in the Bundesliga for four months, but he has made a massive impression and made history in the process.

Since the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award started in the 2016/2017 season, no player has won more than three times consecutively.

Marcus Thuram held the record for most consecutive wins when he won it in the 2019/20 season. The French striker won it in September, October and November 2019.

Victor Boniface matched that record last month but has now set a new record by winning it four times in a row. It puts him in a solid position to win the Rookie of the Year award at the end of the season.

Despite winning four Rookie of the Month awards, it does not guarantee Victor Boniface would take the overall prize at the end of the season.

A testament to this is Thuram, who won the award three times in the 2019/20 season but was beaten to the overall award by Alphonso Davies.

Can the Nigerian striker emulate past winners like Ousmane Dembele (2016/17), Amine Harit (2017/18), Ozan Kabak (2018/19), Alphonso Davies (2019/20), Silas (2020/21), Jesper LindstrΓΆm (2021/22) and Karim Adeyemi (2022/23)?

Victor Boniface chipped in with two assists in the 3-2 win away at Hoffenheim on Matchday 10. The Nigerian also hit 11 attempts.

The latest award will increase his value in the transfer market.
