In a tight encounter, Bayer Leverkusen came from behind to tie with Dortmund in a 1-1 draw.

The draw sees them remain top of the Bundesliga with 35 points. They are ten points ahead of Dortmund and three above second-placed Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians could leapfrog them at the top of the table as they have an outstanding game.

A win over Union Berlin would see Bayern Munich tie Die Werkself on points but hold a superior goal difference over Leverkusen.

Victor Boniface sees his goal take his Bundesliga tally to eight goals. He is sixth on the top scorers chart and way behind first place Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) on 18 and Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart) on 16.

With the return of Patrik Schick, Xabi Alonso will hope that he can form a deadly partnership with Victor Boniface.
