Wikki Tourists Bus Burnt To Ashes In Ghastly Accident

Officials and players of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi have reportedly been involved in a ghastly road accident on their way to Uyo to honour their weekend match.

The accident which happened at Kibo road around the popular Forest area after Jos in plateau state on Thursday morning saw the bus the players and officials were travelling in burnt to ashes.

However, no life was lost but players lost their valuables and luggage which were trapped in the bus when it went up in flames.

Confirming the accident to Bestchoicesports.com.ng, the Media Officer of the club, Nasir said the accident occurred when the back tyre of the bus pulled out and after running for some meters, there was an explosion before the bus went into flames.        

“Yes. We are even at the scene of the incident right now,” Mr Nasri said confirming the accident to our correspondent.

“It was the rear tyre of the bus that went out and the bus driver for like one kilometre on the wheel of the tyre before it went into flames.  

“No casualty. Everybody, all the players, no casualty. There are players and team officials in the bus but all of them went out safely. Nothing happened. Except for luggage of some players.  

“But the car burnt into ashes, completely. Nothing was removed from it.  

“We are heading to Uyo to Honour Our Match with Dakkada FC Matchday 11.  

“The accident happened in a village called Chibo between Jos and Plateau, in Plateau State,” he said.

Wikki Tourists are 10 on the 2020/2021 NPFL season with 13 points from 10 matches.
