£75k-A-Week Player On The Brink Of Leaving As Arsenal Strike Deal With Overseas Club

Italian outlet Labaro Viola claim that a deal between Arsenal and an overseas club has already been agreed for £75k-a-week player.

Lucas Torreira made 29 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring once and creating one assist, but has been linked with a move away from Arsenal to Fiorentina for a number of months.

This would see the Italian club pay the Emirates outfit €8million (£7million) as a loan fee for this season, with a €16million (£14million) obligatory purchase clause to make the transfer permanent, according to the report.

However, the deal’s completion reportedly hinges on Dani Ceballos being loaned to Arsenal once again, and Labaro Viola claims Real Madrid haven’t made up their mind yet.

The Uruguay international has done well enough for Arsenal since his arrival from Sampdoria in 2018 but most of his game time after the return of English football came off the bench.

In addition, Torreira hasn’t appeared overly settled in England – he admitted in 2019 that he missed life in Italy as he criticised the weather in Britain, as per Goal.com.

Having paid around £26million for Torreira, Mikel Arteta’s side would fall short of recouping the £75,000-a-week man’s transfer fee, but in the current market, it’s not entirely unexpected.
