Ademola Lookman agrees personal terms with Atalanta

Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman is set to complete a move Seria A side Atalanta.

The Gian Piero Gasperini-led Bergamo side are set to complete Lookman’s signature in the coming days as both parties have agreed on personal terms, according to Italian  transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

“Atalanta are now set to sign Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig. Talks are at final stage, personal terms agreed. Deal imminent for former Leicester winger,” he said.

The Journeyman is on the move again

Since emerging from Charlton Athletic as a brilliant young winger some years ago, Lookman has been on a bumpy career ride. It has been difficult to call any club home as he has been sent on different loan spells to clubs in England.

The Nigeria international spent last season on loan at the King Power Stadium, where he scored eight times in 42 appearances in all competitions. His most memorable goal of the campaign came in the unlikely 1-0 home win over Liverpool, when City were hit by injuries.

His performances led to suggestions that City could look to make his move permanent this summer. It was said that the loan deal with Red Bull Salzburg included a purchase option of around £14 million.

Following the reports linking the Nigerian to Bergamo, Lookman posted a one-word message on Instagram. Alongside a picture of him doing running drills is a caption that simply reads: “Working.”

That message has prompted a response from some City fans in the replies, asking for the winger to return to the King Power Stadium. It however seems that he will be playing in Serie A in the new season.
