Liverpool's Sadio Mane is wanted ahead of Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane in summer transfer spree.
Real Madrid are set to enter the transfer market to find an alternative to Luka Jovic, who has scored just twice in 24 appearances since his £50m move from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Reports have now claimed that there are two names that come above Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on their list of preferred new forwards, with another Premier League star set to see his loyalty tested.
That update could come as a blow to the former Milan forward, who has previously outlined his desire to play for Los Blancos at some point in his career.
According to The Express, Borussia Dortmund’s highly-rated 19-year-old Erling Haaland and Liverpool hero Sadio Mane could be the subject of a summer move.
That duo leaves Aubameyang as a third-choice option, which will come as good news to both Gunners fans and Mikel Arteta.
Arteta said when asked what will help convince Aubameyang to remain at the club for next season:
“I think it’s been tough for him. You know a player like him, there’s been a lot of disappointments in the last few months and years because he has big expectations.
“You know he wants to play for the biggest club in the biggest tournaments and be up there with the best players in the world.
“And we have to try to support him and give him everything at the club so he really feels fulfilled here. That’s the challenge I have.”

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is set to give the player more time to consider his options, with the stance of Real Madrid making his stance at the Emirates more secure.
