Reports have been saying Barcelona and Manchester United are in communication this past week to discuss a possible deal for Ousmane Dembele.
But Barcelona technical director Ramon Planes has categorically denied any negotiations have taken place and he sees Dembele as a part of the future at Barcelona.
“First of all, no negotiations with Man Utd at the moment, completely deny that,” he said.
“He's a player we count on, we know his potential.
“We hope this year the team sees the best of him.”
Barcelona are still looking to bring in another forward player with Memphis Depay strongly linked.
But Planes didn't give too much away when asked about possible incomings before Monday's deadline.
“We have a good squad, who have competed very well,” he added.
“There are always teams to reinforce. We are working with the coach. Daily communication.
“On an offensive level there is great potential and, defensively, it is true that it is weaker.
“We will work until the last day to bring the best and, if someone comes, who can be good.
