Barcelona To Use Griezmann In Swap Deal To Land Felix

Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann could return to Atletico Madrid as part of a swap deal that would see Joao Felix head in the opposite direction.

With Griezmann struggling, talk of the 2018 World Cup winner potentially leaving Barcelona has started to gather momentum.

A swap deal involving Felix has been mooted and according to Sport, the wheels are in motion when it comes to that blockbuster arrangement.

It’s said that, a few weeks ago, Atletico made an approach towards Griezmann.

They did this because they thought the France international wanted to come back to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, two years after he crossed the divide.

Atletico then suggested a swap deal involving Felix, who has also struggled for form ever since his arrival from Benfica back in the summer transfer window of 2019.

At Barcelona, however, they’re not as keen.

That’s in stark contrast to what was previously reported, when it was claimed they were actually trying to instigate the deal.

Barcelona aren’t convinced Felix would be the right fit for their project, regardless of whether or not Ronald Koeman remains in charge.
