Bruno Fernandes Gives Odion Ighalo Pass Mark As He Returns To CSL

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has praised Odion Ighalo disclosing that the Nigerian remains a special player for the Red Devils following his impact towards the end of the 2019/20 season.

Fernandes and Ighalo arrived Old Trafford during the January transfer window and the duo made an immediate impact, helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to a 19-match unbeaten, a run that started in January and ended in July.

While the former Sporting Lisbon captain scored eight goals and recorded seven assists, Ighalo scored five and assisted one, despite playing as a back up to Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

While speaking to the United official website, Fernandes acknowledged the impact of the former Super Eagles star in the team and quickly praised Ighalo for his contributions last season.

“We have players on the bench who can do very well,”

‘‘And we have Odion [Ighalo] who can score, he can run, he’s a good sprinter.

“I think Odion is the guy with the fourth-most goals for United last season and he signed with me in January,” he said.

Ighalo and Fernandes helped the Old Trafford outfit reach the semi-final of the Europa League and the English FA Cup.
