Enyimba's new boss, Finidi George, has expressed optimism on the preparedness of his team ahead of their first leg, second round CAF Confederation Cup tie with Diambars of Senegal.
The former Super Eagles midfielder for the first time on Saturday, lead Enyimba to a goalless draw against the new Champions of the AITEO Cup, Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Bayelsa in what was a pre-season friendly.
Both Enyimba and Bayelsa United used the fixture to prepare for their respective CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round fixtures in a fortnight, with Enyimba lining up a strong field captained by Emmanuel Ampiah.
Finidi revealed after the barren draw with Bayelsa United, that the eight-time winners of the NPFL, Eyinmba, only need few areas to tidy up ahead of next week's trip to Senegal.
Speaking after the game, Finidi George said: “I am very, very happy that we could see what we have been doing for over two weeks.
“I am quite happy with the way the players played especially in the first half, It's so satisfying, but we can still do better.
“We still have a few things to take care of which definitely I will talk with the players. For the rest, we will be okay.”
The first leg of Enyimba's date with Diambars will take place on Saturday, 16th of October 2021 at the 5000 capacity Stade Fodé Wade in Senegal, while the return leg of the encounter will hold at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, Abia State on 22nd of October.
