Chelsea Approve Antonio Rudiger Loan To Tottenham But With One Condition

Chelsea are prepared to allow Antonio Rudiger to spend the season on loan at Tottenham.

The German defender, who has 18 months left on his current deal, has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard dropping him firmly down the pecking order at centre-back.

As per the Evening Standard, Rudiger has been told he is surplus to requirements by Lampard, paving his way out of the club.

Tottenham could be his next destination, with Jose Mourinho desperate to land a new centre-back before the end of the transfer window.

And a switch for the Germany international could on the cards, but only if Chelsea manage to get him to extend his deal for another year to ensure he can’t go on the cheap at the end of the loan deal.

Lampard's recent comments on Rudiger echo those he made about the 27-year-old earlier this week.

“I wouldn't assume anything,” Lampard said of Rudiger's future. “I will make no assumption.”
