Deadline Day Transfer No Longer Possible For This Liverpool Target

Liverpool are determined to sign two centre-backs on deadline day (today).

Ben Davies is poised to arrive from Championship side Preston, with the 25-year-old rejecting Celtic in favour of a move to Liverpool.

And, now, Ozan Kaban is set to follow with the Schalke star currently undergoing a medical ahead of a move to the Premier League.

Before that, the Reds were targeting a move for Marseille star Duje Caleta-Car.

And according to the Daily Mail, the Marseille star is ‘devastated’ at seeing a move to the current Premier League champions collapse, having been eager to join.

It’s claimed Marseille pulled out of a deal because they couldn’t land a replacement.

The French club’s sporting director Pablo Longoria has been eyeing a number of players suggested to him over the weekend – but they’ve now decided against cashing in.
