Fear Grip Arsenal Over Mesut Ozil Despite Terms Being ‘Agreed’ With Fenerbahce

Reports from Turkey claimed that Fenerbahce have offered Mesut Ozil a three-year deal, with the Super Lig club long-term admirers of the midfielder who is of Turkish descent.

The report claimed that Ozil would join the club in January, with Arsenal agreeing to pay his wages until the end of this season.

This would see the former Germany international bank £8.75m and, according to the Sun, he would also be due a bumper loyalty bonus when his contract expires.

The 32-year-old's current deal runs until the end of June, meaning Arsenal would be paying him his £350,000-a-week wages for a further 25 weeks.

However, Fenerbahce are currently in debt and have already been forced to ask fans to donate to the club so they can pay their players' wages.

According to Football.london, there is an offer from DC United which would see the franchise help expand his M10 brand across America.

He could also sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of England this month, which would see him move on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.
