Cristiano Ronaldo has sealed a stunning return to Manchester United from Juventus.
After phone calls from Sir Alex Ferguson, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, the Juventus star opted to move back to Old Trafford.
And fans are waiting to see what shirt number the Portugal international will wear during his second spell at Old Trafford.
According to talkSPORT, the Red Devils were now planning an official announcement for Ronaldo after his return.
And it’s feasible they’ll announce his shirt number, too.
At the moment, there’s some mystery hanging over that.
The Premier League registered Ronaldo as the club’s No 7, the jersey he previously sported during his time at the Theatre of Dreams.
But, with Edinson Cavani currently the occupant of that jersey, it’s unclear what number Ronaldo will ultimately take.
And another option is the No 28, which he sported during his time at Sporting Lisbon.
Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, meanwhile, believes Ronaldo’s arrival makes United serious contenders to win the Premier League.
