According to reports in the Turkish media, Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are interested in signing Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
Iheanacho, who has been an established member of Leicester City, joined them in 2017 after leaving Manchester City for a fee worth over €27 million.
However, the 25-year-old has always been behind old horse Jamie Vardy in the pecking order at the King Power Stadium and with the interest from Turkey his time at the club could be coming to an end.
According to the Turkish news outlet Futbol Meydani, the former Turkish champions have already reached out to the Premier League club regarding a move for the Nigeria international.
Iheanacho's transfer situation
Iheanacho is presently valued at €20 million (Transfermarkt) but negotiations are reportedly progressing positively, with Fenerbahce offering to take Iheanacho on a season-long loan, with the option to make the move permanent at the end of this campaign.
The former City man has just two years left on his current Leicester City contract, and could be considering a move away from the Premier League after failing to nail down a starting berth this season.
Currently, Iheanacho is not the manager's first choice at Leicester, with manager Brendan Rodgers shuffling him alongside Jamie Vardy, who just signed a new contract extension with the club, and Patson Daka.
So far this season, Iheanacho is yet to start a game for the Foxes and only played 20 minutes against Arsenal last weekend. But he was still able to provide an assist in the 4-2 defeat to Arsenal last week in that short time.
Last season, the Foxes had Nigerian trio of Iheanacho, Wilfred, and Ademola Lookman on their roster. However, Lookman has since moved to Italy to join Serie A campaigners Atalanta.
Leicester City falter at home to Joe Aribo's Southampton
Leicester City paraded Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho in their team as they lost 2-1 at home to Joe Aribo's Southampton on Saturday evening.
After a goalless first half, James Maddison handed the hosts the lead from a free kick before substitute Che Adams scored twice to turn the game around for the visitors.
Ndidi played all 90 mins of the game, but Iheanacho was subbed on in the 76th minute for Harvey Barnes, while Joe Aribo went off for Lyanco in the dying embers of the game.
Leicester City are winless in the Premier League so far this season, while Southampton have won just one of their first three games.
