Five-Year Contract Agreement Reached For Leroy Sane To Bayern Munich Transfer

Bayern Munich were already almost going to sign Manchester City winger Leroy Sane last summer until he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the Community Shield and hasn’t played since.

But now that Sane has been spotted back in training before COVID-19 struck, the Bundesliga giants are not waiting any longer.

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Sane has now agreed a five-year contract with Bayern.

As usual with modern day transfers, personal terms have been agreed and now comes the transfer fee.

Bayern have initially offered €40m (£35m) – which is £11m less than what City paid Schalke for Sane in 2016.

You’d imagine they will need to return with an improved offer.

But Bayern are confident of snapping him up for less than £60 million.

Many would see a fee of £60 million is cheap for a player of Sane’s standards, but here is what former Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes thinks:

“For me, he has not yet made a breakthrough to becoming an absolute top player,” Heynckes said.

“I think this is a player at a crossroads. Will he keep working hard on himself or will he remain just as an exceptional talent?

“He has to be ready to take the next big step because there is no use in flashing the talent from time to time.

“I also honestly tell you that I don’t consider the price justifiable.
