Gabriel Magalhaes And Agents Arriving London To Sign Arsenal Contract

A fee of €30m (£27m) has been agreed with Arsenal and Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes will pen a five-year contract worth €2m-a-year (£1.8m).

Despite competition from Napoli and Manchester United, Mikel Arteta’s side have been heavily linked with the Brazilian and according to Di Marzio, Magalhaes and his agents will arrive in London on Monday to finalise the move.

Napoli's move was dependent on the sale of Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester City, while United’s late move to hijack the deal appears to have fallen through.

According to talkSPORT, Lille owner Gerard Lopez offered an update on the 22-year-old's future, saying: “That and a couple more clubs. I think he has narrowed it down.

“I think it is fair to say that Arsenal is of high interest to him. Napoli is of high interest to him. We've given him plenty of time to make up his mind.

“We've always said, like we did for [Nicolas] Pepe, we've always said if we have an agreement with a club or two clubs or three clubs and the agreement is the same then we are not going to create a bidding competition, which is always fair.

“Whenever we have the number that we want, you are free to choose. I don't think I am giving up too much if I tell you that choice is gonna be made probably between today or tomorrow.

“I'd be unable to tell you at this stage what it is, we've given him some recommendations. We don't like to talk about it in public because we do not want people to feel bad.

“We’ve talked about where he should go but at the end of the day he and his environment make a choice and we support that.”

When asked if Arsenal was Magalhaes' first choice, Lopez responded. “I don’t want to say that and I don’t want to speak for the player.”
