Gareth Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has confirmed they are in talks about a sensational return to Tottenham this summer.
But his desire to leave the La Liga side hasn't changed and he admitted in an interview earlier this month that he would consider a return to the Premier League.
That prompted strong interest from both Tottenham and Manchester United.
But it appears as though Jose Mourinho’s side have moved ahead of the Red Devils in the race to sign Bale with Barnett stating he wants to return to north London.
“Gareth still loves Spurs,” Barnett told BBC Sport Wales.
“We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale's camp].
“It's where he wants to be.”
It remains to be seen whether it would be a loan or permanent move, but reports have suggested it will likely be the former.
And Spurs’ summer transfer business may not stop there with Mourinho confirming the club are working on signing a striker as back up to Harry Kane.
