The ceremony of the 5th edition of the 2023 Ghana Football Awards was held on Sunday night June 25, 2023 at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). It was a ceremony that had some of Ghana's footballing icons in attendance.

The Ghana Football Awards ceremony is the biggest football award showpiece in the West African nation created to celebrate footballers, coaches, clubs and administrators who have done great exploits within the year under review.

Established in 2018 to project Ghanaian football excellence and recognise Ghanaian footballers and other stakeholders for their achievements at home and around the globe, the Ghana Football Awards has become the most anticipated event on the football calendar for Ghanaians. Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC bagged most awards at this year's edition of the most recognized football award scheme in the West African nation.

Below are the names of the winners in the 2023 Ghana Football Awards ceremony:

Male Team of the Year โ€“ Medeama SC

Medeama SC won the Male Team of the Year for emerging as champions of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) for the 2022/23 season. They'll be representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League for the 2023/24 season.

Men's Coach of the Year โ€“ Evans Adotey (Medeama SC)

Medeama SC gaffer Evans Adotey scooped the Men's Coach of the Year award for overseeing a memorable season for his team, guiding them to a podium finish in the GPL.

Club CEO of the Year โ€“ Moses Armah (Medeama SC)

The CEO of Medeama SC was rewarded for his services to the GPL champions last season, emerging as the Best CEO amongst the various clubs in Ghana.

Women's Coach of the Year โ€“ Joe Nana Adarkwa (Ampem Darkoa Ladies)

Nana Joe Adarkwa guided Ampem Darkoa Ladies to the title in Ghana Women's Premier League for the 2022/23 season. They'll be representing Ghana in CAF Women Champions League for the 2023/24 season.

Female Team of the Year โ€“ Ampem Darkoa Ladies

Ampem Darkoa Ladies are Champions of the Ghana Women's Premier League for 2022/23 season, and got duly rewarded for their impressive season. They'll be representing Ghana in the CAF Women's Champions League for the 2023/24 season.

Special Fan(s) of the Year โ€“ Die Hard Supporters Union

The Die Hard Supporters Union were the most impressive football fans in the year under review in Ghana. This Fans Group supports Ghana's national teams, sports men and women by cheering them up to victory for Ghana. And for their displays and dedication, they went home with the Special Fans of the Year award.

Footballer of the Year โ€“ Mohammed Kudus (Ajax)

Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus took home the biggest prize of the day as he was named the Footballer of the Year, inheriting the award won by Alexander Djiku during the 2022 edition. The Ajax man beat competition from Black Stars teammates Joseph Paintsil and Salis Abdul Samed to win the award.

Odartey Lamptey Future Star Award โ€“ Ernest Nuamah (FC Nordsjaelland

The 19-year-old Ernest Nuamah beat Dreamz Ladies and Black Princessesโ€™ skipper, Stella Nyamekye and Fabulous Ladiesโ€™ Princess Owusua to the accolade.

Nuamah had an incredible year for Nordsjaelland as he was close to securing Champions League football for them for the first time in a long while. The teenager scored 12 goals and provided four assists in the league, making him the clubโ€™s top-scorer while winning all three individual awards in the Danish Super Liga.

Womenโ€™s Footballer of the Year โ€“ Blessing Shine Agbomdzi (AS FAR, Morocco)

The AS FAR defender starred for the Moroccans as they walloped holders Mamelodi Sundowns 4-0 in the finals of the CAF Women's Champions League in November last year at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah. Blessing Agbomdzi scooped this award for her impressive season with the Moroccan female side.

Goalkeeper of the Year โ€“ Felix Kyei (Medeama)

Felix Kyei was the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the Betpawa Ghana Premier league 2022/23 season, as he was in goal for Medeama SC in their title triumph season. He also won the best goalkeeper of the GPL.

Home-based Footballer of the Year (Male) โ€“ Sampson Eduku (Tamale City)

Following Tamale City's promotion to the Ghana Premier League last season, Eduku joined along the season and finished with 14 goals to his name. For his stellar campaign, he was rewarded as the male footballer of the year based in Ghana.

Home-based Footballer of the Year (Female) โ€“ Mary Amponsah (Ampem Darkoa Ladies)

Mary Amponsah was instrumental for Ampem Darkoa Ladies as her goals helped the champions to claim a domestic double last season.

Ghana Premier League Goal King โ€“ Abednego Tetteh

Abednego Tetteh scored 18 goals in 30 appearances for Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League last season to finish as the GPL top scorer for the 2022-23 season.

Womenโ€™s Premier League Goal Queen โ€“ Princess Owusua (Fabulous Ladies)

Princess Owusu of Fabulous Ladies FC scored 15 goals in the women's league and won women's league Goal Queen for 2022/2023 season.

Goal of the Year โ€“ Serge-Eric Zeze (Asante Kotoko)

Ivorian player Serge-Eric Zeze scored a spectacular goal against Aduana Stars as his Asante Kotoko side came from behind to win 2-1 on the day. That goal was enough to win him the Goal of the Year award.

Best African International โ€“ Victor Osimhen (Napoli)

The Nigerian International scooped the Best African International Player award for his stellar 2022-23 campaign with Napoli and the Super Eagles. Victor Osimhen scored 26 Serie A goals, winning the Serie A Best Striker and Highest Goalscorer awards respectively.

Most Vibrant Club on Social Media โ€“ Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko is the most followed Ghanaian football club on social media. They followed up their 2022 win with another one in the 2023 edition.

Thumbs Up Award โ€“ Robert Coleman

Robert Coleman who is the CEO of Wembley Sports Complex was rewarded with this award for his contribution to the development of Artificial Turf in Ghana which has reshaped sporting activities in the country.
