Ex-Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo is prepared to half his current salary in order to seal a permanent deal with Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Ighalo has scored four goals in eight appearances for United in all competitions.
However, the 30-year-old is currently on a reported £240,000-a-week deal with Shanghai Shenhua.
But now The Sun claim Ighalo is prepared to take a 50 per cent pay cut to stay at the club he loves and supported as a young boy.
This means he would be willing to reduce his annual salary by just over £6million to make the move a permanent one.
The Red Devils are unlikely to offer him the same terms he is currently on with Shanghai Shenhua and Ighalo is okay with that, if it means he can stay at Old Trafford.
Ighalo’s current contract expires on New Year’s Eve 2021, but under the current loan agreement, impressed boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side do have the option to buy the player in the summer window.
Shanghai Shenhua only paid £5.27m for the Nigerian last February but will be looking for around three times that from United is they want to buy him at the end of the season.
According to the Mirror, Shanghai Shenhua want United to pay £15m to keep the former Watford striker.

And while the buy option exists it is claimed that no fee was agreed when the player made the switch to Old Trafford on deadline day in the January window.
