Inter Miami chief David Beckham is in talks with Real Madrid over the availability of their forward James Rodriguez.
The 28-year-old is obviously not in Zinedine Zidane's plans as he has barely featured this season, and has scored just one La Liga goal.
And GoalBall understands that the Frenchman has given permission for Rodriguez to move on.
With the Colombian’s contract due to expire next June Madrid are desperate to sell him in the near future so that they can recoup some of the £63m they splashed out on the player in 2014.
And according to Goal Beckham is keen on making James a marquee signing for his new franchise.
Beckham has a close relationship with Madrid president Florentino Perez, which could help in transfer negotiations.
Although he may face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Everton, who have also been linked with a move for James.

James has been unable to recapture the form which saw him win the Golden Boot at World Cup 2014, and it will be intriguing to see if he can rescue his career at his next club.
