Klopp Gives Report On Transfer Futures Of Alcantara And Georginio Wijnaldum

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has opened up about a move for Thiago Alcantara and the future of Georginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum is wanted by Barcelona as he enters the final year of his contract at Anfield.

The Reds boss, meanwhile, is a known admirer of Thiago, but would not be drawn into speculation over a potential move for the Spain international.

“If I could invent a word now that would end speculation, I could become really rich,” said Klopp at the pre-match press conference for his team’s game with Leeds United.

“I can't end speculation as long as the transfer window is open, that's all I can say.

“Unfortunately, maybe good for you, I cannot end the speculation.”

Asked if everything was good on the Wijnaldum front, Klopp insisted he remains relaxed about the midfielder’s future.

He added: “Yeah, yeah, great. Yes. Absolutely fine about the future as far as we are involved with that. I cannot speak about the future in a few years but it is all fine. It’s all good for the moment.
