Atletico Madrid are looking for ways to lure Alexandre Lacazette away from Arsenal should their plan to sign Edinson Cavani this month fail, GoalBall understands.
Only 22 goals has been scored by the LaLiga giants in the league this season and boss Diego Simeone is in dire need of a proven goalscorer to help them mount a title challenge.

Cavani is said to be Simeone’s prime target but Paris Saint-Germain have insisted they will not sell him in January, whether or not the Uruguay international’s contract expires in the summer.
According to Marca, Wanda Metropolitano chiefs have therefore swung into action in the search for other options in the market and have now identified Lacazette as a potential alternative.
There has been loads of transfer rumours linking the 28-year-old with a move to the Spanish club in the past and GoalBall understands that Atletico would be willing to offer Thomas Lemar in any potential deal for the striker.
