Liverpool’s Sadio Mane Succession Plan Hits Huge Rock

Liverpool are looking to replace Sadio Mane (in the future) but their plan could be about to be scuppered.

The Reds have been scouting Jeremy Doku for months after a remarkable rise in the last 12 months at Anderlecht and for Belgium.

They were considering making a bid for the 18-year-old before the transfer window shut with the view that he take over from Mane.

But rather than be scrambling around for a replacement when the Senegal striker does eventually leave, the idea was to have a player already at the club who can slot straight in.

However, those plans may no longer be possible after it emerged that Rennes have made an offer for Doku before the Reds, according to Foot Mercato.

However, Liverpool may find some solace in the fact that the French side’s opening offer appears to be deemed derisory.

But they are expected to hold further talks before the end of the transfer window.
