Romelu Lukaku is set to decide on his future in respect of where he believes he can win more trophies – that either being with the Serie A champions, Inter Milan, or the reigning European champions, Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel’s side initially wanted to land Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, earmarking the Norway international as a priority target.
But with Borussia Dortmund flatly refusing to sell the 21-year-old, they’ve now turned to Lukaku instead.
A decade after they first signed the Belgian from Anderlecht, the Blues hierarchy are working on a deal.
And, after having two bids rejected so far, they’re now ready to go in with another offer.
Chelsea may end up having to pay as much as £105million to sign the 28-year-old.
And that would see the Inter Milan striker become the most expensive player in Premier League history, in what would represent a huge statement of intent.
The Inter Milan hitman has stated on numerous occasions that he’s happy at the San Siro.
But with Inter looking to raise funds in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, they could be forced into parting ways with their prized asset.

It remains to be seen what his final decision will be but he could certainly put his future well in doubt now.
