Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Donny van de Beek for £34m plus £4m in add ons.
The Netherlands international has moved to Old Trafford after spending 12 years on the books at Ajax.
United have now won the race to sign the 23-year-old amid apparent interest from Real Madrid, and he has been handed the number 34 shirt for the new Premier League season.
He previously held the number 6 jersey at Ajax.
Earlier this week Ajax CEO and United legend Edwin van der Sar hinted that a deal was edging closer after Rio Ferdinand sent a tweet to the midfielder.
Van der Sar posted a simple crying face emoji, after Ferdinand said good evening to Van de Beek.
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has also issued his thoughts, and it will come as good reading to United fans.
He said: “[The Van de Beek move] looks like it's going to happen indeed. From my heart, I wish him the best.
“It's wonderful for him, it's a nice step for him to move to a great club as a Dutch player.”
With former Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart adding: “Donny deserves this transfer so much. He has played excellently for Ajax.
“And Manchester United really need this kind of player in their team. This transfer is fantastic for us [Dutch people] too.
“We are all going to follow him now. This move is so deserved.”
Ajax boss Erik ten Hag addressed the move earlier this week, in a deal that is set to cost United around £40m.
“There are indeed developments that keep him out of the selection,” he said.
“We will see what happens. We’ll make an announcement as soon as there’s some clarity. The fact that Donny did not play does indicate a direction.

“The request not to let him play did not come specifically from one side. We do that together. Agreements have been made about a possible transfer, and if that possibility arises, you must also cooperate.”
