Manchester United List Declan Rice As Transfer Target

Manchester United have identified West Ham and England midfielder, Declan Rice as prime midfield target for next summer.

According to reports, the potential framework for a deal to land the 22-year old midfielder has been discussed.

Rice, whose contract is set to come to an end in West Ham in 2024 has been long courted by Manchester United and West Ham's cohabitants, Chelsea.

And while a move by The Red Devils for Rice may be possible, it's unclear whether the midfielder will be willing to make a switch to Manchester even before 2024.

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, reportedly wanted to sign a midfielder in the just concluded summer window, but given that the United hierarchy prioritized getting a center back and a winger upfront, the move for any midfielder never happened.

Also, the United recruitment department was said to be unconvinced that there was a ‘game-changing' defensive midfielder in the market.

But Rice was rumored to have discussed the possibility of playing for the Old Trafford side with Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw during the international break with England in March.
