Messi Disgraces Omeruo, Awaziem, Sets New Record

Lionel Messi has recorded a new feat as Barcelona destroyed Chidozie Awaziem and Kenneth Omeruo’s Leganes side in a Copa Del Rey clash between the two sides at Camp Nou on Thursday night.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner is now the first player to record 500 wins in all competitions for a Spanish side following Barca’s win on Thursday.

Messi was missing in the Round of 16 win over Ibiza, but he was on all through the duration of the game last night.

Antoine Griezmann gave Barca an early lead in the fourth minute before Clement Lenglet added a second 24 minutes later to ensure Setien’s men took a two-goal lead into the break.

The Argentina captain added a third in the 59th minute after his shot was deflected into the net before Arthur added a fourth goal 13 minutes from time.

Messi scored his second and Barcelona’s fifth in the 89th in what was a comfortable night for the Blaugrana.

With this win, Messi has now recorded 500 wins in all competitions for Barcelona.

The 32-year-old is the first player in history to win 500 games all competitions with a Spanish side.

Even though Awaziem was in action for Leganes for the whole 90 minutes, he wasn’t able to stop Messi.

His Super Eagles teammate, Omeruo, was however on the bench for the entire duration of the game.
