Arsenal are reportedly talking with Rennes over a potential loan for William Saliba.
The young defender was brought in by Unai Emery in the summer of 2019 for a fee of £27m.
Despite returning to north London earlier this summer, Saliba is yet to feature under Arteta this season.
With competition for places high in defence, the 19-year-old is current way down the pecking order and a loan move could now be on the cards.
According to French outfit Telefoot, Arsenal are now in talks with Ligue 1 side Rennes over a loan deal.
Journalist Simone Rovera tweeted: “Stade Rennais has reached an agreement with Juve and with [Daniele] Rugani, but today and again in the last hours had also worked on the Saliba track, which Arsenal could send on loan.”
Rennes have been drawn into Group E with Sevilla, Chelsea and Krasnodar, meaning Saliba could potentially get the chance to test himself against Premier League opposition.
