What the 11 results say about home and away form

Nasarawa United have collected 13 of their 17 points in five home matches and only 4 in six away. Two numbers.

At Lafia the team has lost nothing, with four wins and a draw from five. Away, it has won once, at Inter Lagos on 18 October 2026, and lost four of six.

We counted the scorers ourselves. All 11 goals carry a name. Sandei Haruna and Istifanus Jofrank lead with two each, one of Jofrank's from the spot, and seven others have one apiece. Rivers United's only goal on 20 September 2026 was a 67th-minute own goal. Sportmonks credits it to Harrison Ebah, the same player who scored on 27 September.

One match needs a note. Sportmonks still marks the Enugu Rangers game of 17 and 18 September as abandoned, since it was suspended and finished later, but it was played to a result and we count it, as in our matchday 11 archive. Leave it out and the points stay at 17, since Nasarawa United lost, but the matches played would drop to 10.

Coach, signings and the winning run

Mbwas has been technical adviser since August 2025. He then oversaw a summer rebuild, and at the club's unveiling in the week before the 30 August 2026 opener the squad list ran to 18 or 19 players depending on whether you count the two promoted from the feeder team, with new faces including goalkeeper Cletus Anthony from Bendel Insurance, defender Ahmed Family from Niger Tornadoes, Harrison Ebah from Plateau United, and midfielder Kelechi Emmanuel Ogbodo from Rangers International. Two of them paid back fast. Ogbodo scored at Inter Lagos on 18 October 2026, Ebah against Niger Tornadoes on 27 September. Midfielder Ifeanyi Okechukwu went the other way, to Enugu Rangers on a deal reported to run to 2028.

Clean sheets did the rest.

The three wins from 11 to 25 October were all clean sheets. The 1-0 over Enyimba on 25 October came from Joshua John, back from a long groin injury.

Voice of Nigeria reported Mbwas saying, “Credit to the boys for securing the maximum points”, and counted it as a fourth straight win. We make it three. Shooting Stars held them to 0-0 on 4 October 2026.

Players' salary: a floor, not a payslip

No individual Nasarawa United salary has been published, and we will not guess one. The only figure on the record is league wide. The National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation approved a minimum of ₦2m a month for registered NPFL players from the 2026/27 season, a reform we cover in our piece on the highest paid NPFL coach.

The club is owned by the Nasarawa State Government, so the wage bill depends on state funding rather than a commercial backer. Nothing public shows whether the floor is met in Lafia.

That gap is the real salary story.

The stadium and what comes next

Lafia hosts every home game, five of them so far, and Sportmonks names the ground Lafia Township Stadium. Club coverage of the unveiling called it Lafia City Stadium and described it as refurbished, so expect both names. Capacity figures conflict. We leave them out. Our NPFL clubs and stadiums guide has the full list.

Plateau United arrive sixth on 16 points, one behind. Our Plateau United profile covers their side. Enugu Rangers lead on 21 points from 10 matches, so a home win on 8 November 2026 would lift Nasarawa United to 20 points, two clear of the three clubs on 18 before their own weekend games. Their home record says it is possible.
