The Golden Eaglets defended the world title they won two years earlier at the United Arab Emirates having been drawn in Group A alongside host Chile, USA and Croatia.
As a matter of fact, being the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2015 winner, the Nigeria Under 17 Squad 2015 were a unique team as two players returned with two individual awards. Victor Osimhen won the Golden Boot as the best goal scorer with 10 goals in 7 matches as well as winning the third best player of the tournament.
