Let's delve into the thick of the action as we dole out the predictions for the week.
Matchday 12 NPFL predictions
Abia Warriors vs. Sporting Lagos
After a disappointing capitulation at Bayelsa United where Abia Warriors relinquished a two-goal lead to end up drawing, Erasmus Onuh's men will look to correct their mistakes and give fans something to cheer about at home against newly promoted Sporting Lagos.
Prediction: Abia Warriors to carry the day
Katsina United vs. Enyimba
In one of the toughest match pairings of the midweek, Enyimba will lock horns with Katsina United who are winless in their previous three matches.
Both teams come into this affair because of low-scoring results in their previous three games.
Prediction: Under 2.5 goals
Heartland vs. Bendel Insurance
Heartland earned a hard-fought draw away against Shooting Stars in Akure last Sunday. They're the only side in the NPFL yet to win a game after 11 league matches.
With just two losses in 11 outings this season, Bendel Insurance will fancy their chances of coming off with a good result against the Naze Millionaires.
Prediction: Bendel Insurance not to lose.
Kano Pillars vs. Akwa United
Yusuf Abdullahi scored five times in a dominant attacking football showcased by Kano Pillars in their thumping 5-2 win over Gombe United last Sunday.
Sai Masu Gida will be eager to continue their winning run at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday evening against Akwa United, who scraped out a 1-1 draw in their last game.
Prediction: Home win
Kwara United vs. Doma United
Doma United have been unbeaten in the league in their past seven matches, the longest unbeaten run in the NPFL this season.
With the safest gloves in the NPFL in goal, it's unlikely their unbeaten run will end on Wednesday.
Prediction: Doma to win or draw
Sunshine Stars vs. Shooting Stars
This match is arguably the biggest game of the midweek because it's a Western Derby between two teams that know themselves very well. We expect a very tough game with nothing separating both sides.
This match will see tacticians Edith Agoye and Gbenga Ogunbote go head-to-head in an epic showdown at the Akure Township Stadium.
Prediction: Draw
Plateau United vs. Enugu Rangers
Plateau United have a head-to-head lead of 6-3 wins over Rangers in all competitions, winning all five matches at home against the visitors. It'll be a shock to see any other outcome in Jos other than a win for Ayuba Mangut's men.
Prediction: Plateau United to reign supreme
Niger Tornadoes vs. Remo Stars
Ranked 18th on the NPFL table, Niger Tornadoes will face a daunting task to win all three points against the league leaders.
However, Remo Stars are yet to win away against their Wednesday opponents despite their notable brilliant football over the years.
Prediction: Remo Stars to score
Lobi Stars vs. Gombe United
Lobi Stars have showcased title aspirations this season and have remained within the top three for many weeks this season.
Playing at home with supporters cheering them, Gombe United will have an evening to forget having suffered a humiliating 5-2 loss at home last time out.
Prediction: Lobi Stars to win
