Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola want to lure Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma to the Etihad this summer.
Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Tottenham are also tracking the 24-year-old but Guardiola is confident of winning the race to land him.
The Cityzens are keen to sign a central midfielder in the close season amid doubts about Fernandinho's immediate future.
Guardiola is also a big fan of England and Hammers ace Declan Rice, but is not prepared to get involved in a bidding war with Chelsea for the £90m-rated star.
That has seen City cast their net wider, with Guardiola now targeting the Mali international.

The Seagulls are resigned to losing Bissouma, but will hold out for at least £30m for him, which would see them double what they initially paid for him.
