Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Contract Update Excites Arsenal Fans

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out-of-contract with the Gunners at the end of next season, meaning he could soon be available on a free-transfer if he has not signed a new deal before he reaches the final six months of his current deal.

And midfielder Joseph Willock is hopeful that the Gabon international will extend his contract at the Emirates Stadium, according to FootballLondon.

Another avenue, of course, that could see Aubameyang leave Arsenal is if the club receive a transfer offer for him this summer that is too good to turn down.

A whole host of clubs have been heavily linked with plotting a move for the former Borussia Dortmund man this summer, including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta, who has masterminded victories over Liverpool and Manchester City in Arsenal's last two outings, has reiterated his confidence that Aubameyang will put pen to paper on a new deal.

That is an opinion shared by Aubameyang's teammate Willock, who insists he is happy at the North London club and would love him to stay.

“Auba’s an amazing guy,” Willock said. “He’s our captain but not only that, he’s a massive, massive player for us. I don’t really know what’s going with all that stuff but, I love to play with him, he’s an amazing guy.
