Paris Saint-Germain are ready to do anything to keep Kylian Mbappe out of Real Madrid’s clutches.
One such move is to make him as well-paid as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in order to convince him to stay long-term.
The French World Cup winner, who currently pockets around £125,000, is out of contract in 2022.
Today’s report in AS claims they will wait another 18 months before launching a move.
The 21-year-old will then be in the final year of his contract, with the Spanish giants hoping to convince him not to renew in order to pile pressure on PSG to sell rather than lose him for free 12 months later.
However, a “dizzying” new offer could change everything – and it will be on the table ahead of this summer’s Euro 2020.
PSG want to get their hotshot’s situation sorted as quickly as possible and hope to do so by offering to put Mbappe in the same wage bracket as Ronaldo (£510,000) and Messi (£541,796).
But Madrid president Florentino Perez is aware of the economic return Mbappe would bring, which AS state “part of his salary would be paid”.
