Real Madrid Launch Man City Transfer Raid After Champions League Ban

Real Madrid are now keeping an eye on goings at Manchester City with the Premier League side having been handed a two-season European competition ban.

The current Premier League champions will not be allowed to compete in European competitions for the next two seasons after being found to have committed “serious breaches” of UEFA's club licensing and financial fair play regulations.

The ban is going to be appealed at the Court of Arbitration for Sport with City saying they are “disappointed but not surprised”.

With the Citizens now looking like they will not be in the Champions League for the next two seasons, the future of a number of Etihad stars is in doubt.

And according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid are “on the trail” ahead of a potential summer raid on City.

Etihad stars Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne are reportedly of interest to the La Liga giants.

It’s claimed that Los Blancos will be on the prowl for Sterling due to his age and keen eye in front of goal.

And for De Bruyne, Mundo Deportivo add that fellow Belgians Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard could persuade the City star to head to the Spanish capital.
