Real Madrid Respond To Tottenham’s Use Of Dele Alli In Gareth Bale Transfer

Dele Alli had been offered up to Real Madrid by Tottenham as a makeweight in the deal for Gareth Bale, but Los Blancos decided they weren’t interested.

Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, confirmed on Tuesday that the player wants to return to Spurs this summer, saying: “Gareth still loves Spurs. We are talking – Spurs, Real Madrid, and the player’s camp.

“[Tottenham] is where he wants to be.”

Spurs have reportedly made an opening bid to Zinedine Zidane’s side to sign Bale on a one-year loan with Madrid slapping a €20million [£18m] price tag on his head.

Madrid would have to subsidise a large portion of his £600,000-per-week wages in order for the deal to happen, but Spurs reportedly offered up Alli as a way of moving the transfer fee down.

However, Madrid decided they have no interest in signing the English midfielder, but are still open to making a deal for Bale to depart.
