Real Madrid have reportedly decided to end their interest in signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United after club president Fiorentino Perez made a crucial decision over transfers..
Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of the Manchester United star, and was reportedly determined to sign him this summer.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, that now looks unlikely.
Madrid are set for a busy transfer window and are expected to sign a central midfielder as a long-term replacement for Luka Modric – who is one of the players available this summer.
But according to AS, Pogba won't be the player they target.
The Spanish outlet reports that Madrid president Perez decided to pull the plug on a move for Pogba due to his wage demands.
Pogba would apparently demand just under £300,000-per-week, add that to a transfer fee in excess of £90million, and Perez views that as too much to spend on a midfielder.
Instead, the Spanish giants will apparently go after Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga who is valued at £50m by the French side.
