Arsenal have made a bid for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to Sport Mediaset.
Mikel Arteta’s side are so keen on the striker that they have actually made an offer of €70 million (£59.74m) for the 23-year-old Argentina international.
Inter, who won the Serie A title last season, have turned it down.
The striker himself is claimed not to be interested in a move to the Premier League side.
The former Racing Club man wants to stay at Inter, although offers from Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid could appeal to him.
It added that the striker would be interested in joining the Gunners if Inter are willing to sell him.
If Inter do not want to sell Martinez and the player himself is not going to force a move through, then it does not appear that Arsenal will get the striker.
However, the summer transfer window is still open, and a lot can happen.
Martinez scored 17 goals and gave six assists in Serie A last season, and scored 14 goals and gave three assists in the league in 2019-20.
