Jurgen Klopp has been relatively quiet in this summer’s transfer window but could look to sell some Liverpool stars.
According to Reds legend Jamie Carraghe, Klopp has “three or four players” that he is looking to sell.
Liverpool have been constantly linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
And Carragher believes Reds’ boss has a number of players in mind to sell before he looks at bringing Thiago in.
He said: “Liverpool have got three or four players in the squad they are looking to move on.
“It seems like they have to sell before they buy, that was the case with Dejan Lovren. He had to leave before a left-back could come in.
“Thiago would give Liverpool's midfield something different, no doubt.”
Carragher also remembered how Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho in order to improve their back-line.
The funds raised by selling the Brazilian to Barcelona allowed Klopp to sign Virgil van Dijk and goalkeeper Alisson.
Klopp and his men got their title defence off to a nervous start, as they beat Leeds United 4-3.
