Arsenal are pursuing a deal for Real Madrid outcast Martin Odegaard as they look to fill the void left by attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil’s departure for the rest of the season.
But an Arsenal debut for Odegaard would likely be delayed if a Real Madrid exit happens.
With the Norway international looking to get first-team football, it has seen the north London side become a viable option for Zinedine Zidane’s side to offload the 22-year-old.
According to ABC in Spain,Mikel Arteta would face a wait before Odegaard could be let loose.
The report states that the attacking midfielder currently “feels discomfort in his knee”, meaning he would need treatment on his arrival at the Emirates Stadium.
While Madrid appear to be no longer interested in the youngster, he has been the subject of a charm offensive by Arsenal director Edu.
