Union Berlin and former U-17 striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has been invited to the Super Eagles ahead of Nigeria's double head clash against CAR and Liberia in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The 24-year old striker who scored twice in Union Berlin's comeback win against Mainz on Sunday is reportedly going to replace the injured Terem Moffi who initially came in to replace Everton's Alex Iwobi in the Super Eagles.
This is a perfect time for the Union Berlin forward to be invited and it gives room for Genort Rohr to have plenty of choices to choose from given that Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu, Kelechi Iheanacho and now Awoniyi are all in great goalscoring form.
The Ilorin-born striker will be looking forward to playing his competitive match for the super Eagles come Thursday 6th October 2021 against the Central African Republic.
