Barcelona are plotting an overhaul this summer with the club looking to maximise the remaining few months Lionel Messi has with them.
Sport report that the Nou Camp outfit will target two defenders and two forwards in the upcoming window in order to build a new team around their iconic talisman.
Barca's desire to do so is borne out of their 2-0 defeat at eternal rivals Real Madrid on Sunday night, where it was established that Messi was too isolated.
According to Sport, the Catalan club want to sign a centre back and a right back in defence.
Presently, manager Quique Setien only has three centre-back options in Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti.
Meanwhile, at right-back, the void left by Dani Alves' departure in 2016 hasn’t been filled.
In attack, Barca are looking at two types of players; one who can play out wide with the other being a bonafide No 9 who can rotate with Luis Suarez.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is one player who has been linked with a move to Catalonia.
Barca's remit is that these players must be of starting quality rather than squad roles as they look to regain their supremacy on all three fronts.

GoalBall understand that they would also be open to signing a midfielder too, depending on the market.
