CONFIRMED: Timo Werner Transfer Now A Done Deal, Completes £53m Move To Chelsea

Chelsea have now confirmed that the £53million signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig after weeks of speculation is now a done deal.

The 24-year-old has become Frank Lampard ’s second major signing as Blues boss, with Hakim Ziyech also due to arrive in a £36million switch from Ajax.

Werner has scored 31 goals in 41 appearances for Leipzig this term and is widely considered one of the most talented strikers in European football.

Liverpool had been heavily linked with a move for Werner, only for the Merseyside outfit to pull out of a potential deal over budgeting concerns.

Reports in Germany also suggest Manchester United were keen to sign him.

According to Sky in Germany , Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co actually offered the player a contract before Chelsea.

However, the Blues immediately followed suit with a more financially-rewarding package – believed to be worth around £10m per year.
