Tottenham Set To Give Harry Kane Back-Up With £5.5m Striker

Jose Mourinho has made it clear Tottenham need a new striker to ease the burden on Harry Kane and so they have a Plan B after their opening weekend defeat to Everton.

A £5.5m bid has been prepared for Frankfurt striker Bas Dost as they continue to search for back-up for Kane, claims The Daily Mail.

The north London outfit have already missed out on Ollie Watkins to Aston Villa, while Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik is set to join Roma.

It has now emerged Spurs have earmarked Dost as a top transfer target heading into the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.

The former Netherlands international has spent the last 12 months with German side Frankfurt after flourishing in Portugal with Sporting for three seasons.

Dost impressively scored 76 goals in 83 league games for Sporting and managed eight goals in 24 league appearances in his maiden Frankfurt season.

The 31-year-old struggled for regular playing time last season, however, only starting 16 of his 24 appearances and averaged a goal every 184.6 minutes of playing time.
