Two Players Reportedly Cause Lingard To Reject New Man Utd Contract

Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has rejected an offer of a new contract, according to reports.

The England international’s current deal expires at the end of the campaign.

Lingard is said to wants to see how the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho play out, with the duo both adding to the intense competition for places.

Should Lingard leave, he won’t be short of offers.

And it’s claimed Barcelona and AC Milan are both eyeing the 28-year-old, as the January transfer window creeps closer, believing his availability on a free transfer makes him an appealing target.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, for their part, still want to keep Lingard at Old Trafford.

It’s stated they could try again with a new contract offer but, if he rejects, then a parting of the ways in the January transfer window could be on the cards.

But the player will decide his own fate and, with United planning to make more big signings next summer, it’s hard to see him penning an extension.
